Looking Forward to TSIPF 2026
After months of planning, emails, scheduling, marketing, and countless details behind the scenes, we are finally ready to welcome participants to the 2026 Texas State International Piano Festival.
As Marketing Director, I often spend so much time working on the festival that I rarely have the chance to step back and appreciate what makes it special. Each year, faculty and students from around the world come together in San Marcos to share music, ideas, and experiences, creating an environment that is both inspiring and uniquely collaborative.
This year's festival, taking place June 6–14 at Texas State University, features an outstanding roster of artists and educators representing some of the world's leading music schools and institutions. I am particularly looking forward to the faculty recitals by Christopher Guzman and Spencer Myer, both of whom bring remarkable artistry and insight to the stage.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the Steve Kahng Piano Competition, where six outstanding finalists will compete for top honors. The festival will conclude with our Gala Concert, featuring six concerto competition winners performing with the Central Texas Philharmonic under the direction of Stefan Sanders—a fitting celebration of the talent and dedication that participants bring to the festival each year.
There is still much work to do, but as we approach opening day, excitement is beginning to replace preparation. I look forward to welcoming returning participants and meeting many new faces in San Marcos.
